East Championship 2005:

Free Wrestling East Championship, which occurred in the Capital Beirut between December 22nd and 23rd 2005 and which announced the Kuwaiti Wrestler Abdelmomeet as the Champion of the East for Heavy Weight Free Wrestling. The Championship also announced the Lebanese wrestler Pauls Khalil as the champion of the East for medium weight free wrestling. Abdelmomeet is the absolute first Kuwaiti wrestler to get such a title in the world of Professionals Free Wrestling. He is also the first Kuwaiti wrestler to have participated in the Free Wrestling East Championship for thirty years. On the first night, Abdelmomeet played an individual match with the Spanish wrestler Apollo; it was a very violent match for Abdelmomeet as an official match to participate in with the Lebanese Free Wrestling Federation. Apolo tried to cheat for two times during the match through giving Abdelmomeet two blows under the truss, which caused severe and violent pains for Abdelmomeet during the match. For each blow under the truss, the Spanish wrestler Apolo was given a warning from the Federation Arbitration Committee because such blows are not allowed according to the laws of Professionals Free Wrestling. After the second prohibited blow, the international Lebanese wrestler Pauls Khalil entered the playing hall heading for the Arbitration Committee protesting the way Apolo played. Meanwhile everybody was preoccupied with Pauls, the Spanish wrestler Apolo seized the opportunity and attacked Abdelmomeet again. Then he took Abdelmomeet and put him in one of the ring corners throwing him to one of the ring corners. After this occurred, Abdelmomeet was thrown on one of the ring corners powerless. Apolo ran quickly towards him to give him a blow with his knee but Abdelmomeet could escape from the corner on time, which caused Apolo's knee to collide with the ring corner which was not coated with a protection cushion instead of colliding with Abdelmomeet. After that Abdelmomeet focused on Apolo's leg through giving blows to it; then Abdelmomeet applied the famous finish technique called "Sharp Shooter" to get Apolo to surrender and finally Abdelmomeet won the match. On the next night, Abdelmomeet played a dual match for the Title. Because time was not enough so that the Championship can last for more days, the Arbitration Committee made the Title Match be held for three successive matches where Abdelmomeet and Pauls Khalil played as one team while the Spanish wrestler Apolo played with the Mexican wrestler Mariatchi as the other team. This time, Apolo wanted to start playing against AbdelMomeet to take revenge from him regarding what happened to him on the previous night. Meanwhile, the Mexican wrestler Mariatchi wanted to play against Pauls Khalil in revenge of what happened to him on the previous night. The match was really exciting; it lasted till the end without any warnings for any wrestlers. As we have mentioned, the match consisted of three successive matches each of which should result in the winning or loss of either team or the loss of both teams. In the first match, Pauls Khalil could fix the shoulder of the Spanish wrestler Apolo till the third count. In the second match, both teams lost the match due to the ascending count till number twenty for Pauls Khalil and Mariatchi. Whereas for the third match, AbdelMomeet fixed Mariatchi till the third count. At the end of the Championship, Head of Lebanese Wrestling Federation, Mr. Khalil Abi Khalil, distributed awards for all the participating wrestlers in this Championship in honour of them for their participation which got the Championship to succeed. Consequently, he dressed the Medium Weight East Championship Belt to Pauls Khalil and dressed the Heavy Weight East Championship Belt to Abdelmomeet in addition to the Championship Cup, the Participation Cup, and the Courage Medal, which is granted for the first time by the Federation to any wrestler in appreciation of Abdelmomeet's participation in this Championship.
